Peter Kelly trained in graphic design at the West Ham School of Art and then at the Central School of Art and Design in London. From 1957 he pursued a career as a graphic designer, illustrator and painter. At Discerning Eye exhibitions, he won the American Express Best New Painting in 1995, the HSBC Investment Ltd Award in 1996, and the Chairman’s Prize in 2001. He was awarded the De Laszlo Medal at the Royal Society of British Artists Exhibition in 1997; the Ing Barings Charterhouse Securities Prize in 2000; and Most Creative Painting Prize at the RBA Exhibition in 2004.
